Depending on how confident and fit a cyclist you are, there are a range of destinations that can be accessed by bike from Robinson Fields.
Locally, a cycle ride into Whitley Bay will take less than 10-minutes, as will a ride to the Cobalt Business Park or Silverlink Park. Further afield, a cycle into Newcastle will take around 45-minutes, with a signed cycle route available along most of Coast Road.
Rake Lane itself has a shared cycle path in the vicinity of Robinson Fields, which can be used to access National Cycle Network (NCN) Route 10 which connects North Shields with Bellingham. NCN Route 1 is also just a short distance away, running along the East Coast and taking in some of the fantastic scenery on offer.
For those looking for a more leisurely ride, the North Tyneside Waggonways Network, which was once used to haul coal to ships on the River Tyne, have been transformed into more than 30 miles of off-road routes that can be enjoyed by bike or on foot. There are a number of routes that can be enjoyed around Robinson Fields.
